The Squeeze
Why do you think Ruben's father allowed him to go to Brown's Cove but now will not discuss the incident with him?
I think he allowed him to go beccause Mr. Riley might have threatened to take his job away, or maybe even harm his family. I think he won't talk about it because he just doesn't want to, doesn't want to bring up what had happened between him and Mr. Riley, that he just wants to forget about it all.
I think it is because he is mad because Mr. Riley had threatened him somehow and that he had to get Ruben to go or elses somthing bad would have happened.
I don't know... I think it has something to do with the threatening matter so he allows Ruben to go. Maybe he doesn't want to discuss it with Ruben because he is worried that Ruben will talk to Mr. Riley about it, and then Mr. Riley will get mad and this whole thing will begin...
I think that he didn't want Ruben to go to Brown's cove because it could be dangerous and he doesn't want his mother to find out and be worried. so to keep thing on the DL he isn't talking to Ruben so the word doesn't get out.
