Home Improvements
On page 155, where Aunt Grace is reading from the newspaper, these two words are used: "scourge" and "brazen." Based on context, what do you think each of these words mean?
I think that scourge means something bad (like illegal) and unwanted, something thats kind of ruining them. It said brazen law-breaking in the book so, I think that means law-breaking thats been happening again and again...
I think that scourge means somethings harmful and doing something that can ruin things. And I agree with Shannon on this one... Based on the context, I think that brazen means something to do with law-breaking thats been happening over and over again.
I agree with everyone that agreed with Shannon and Shannon of course that scourge means to do something illegal and brazen is past of illegal. like: It WAS a brazen to see them do that.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Shannon about both words. I think that scourge means something illegal. I also agree that brazen means something about breaking the law.
